Empower Program

Creating a Safe and Supportive Learning Environment

At Quality Schools International (QSI), we are dedicated to fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for all students. We believe that every child deserves a secure and nurturing space where they can grow, thrive, and succeed—regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, cultural background, disability, religion, personal beliefs, or socioeconomic status.

To strengthen this commitment, QSI is implementing the EMPOWER curriculum—a comprehensive, evidence-based program that integrates Success Orientations (SO)Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and Child Protection (CP). Closely aligned with QSI’s Success Orientations and Child Safeguarding and Protection Policy, EMPOWER supports students in developing the values, resilience, and self-awareness needed to navigate their lives with confidence, empathy, and integrity.

The EMPOWER curriculum was collaboratively developed by QSI teachers, counselors, and administrators. It draws on respected international frameworks, including:

  • The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL)

  • The International School Counselor Association (ISCA) scope and sequence

  • Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA) standards

  • The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)

  • The International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) best practices for child protection education

Each of these organizations is a recognized leader in the fields of education, counseling, and child protection.

EMPOWER lessons are taught weekly and are carefully designed to interweave key themes from the Success Orientations, SEL, and Child Protection. These lessons provide students with a well-rounded set of life skills to support their personal growth, relationships, and decision-making.

All content is developmentally appropriate and tailored to the specific needs of each age group. While some concepts may be revisited across grade levels, the lessons evolve to reflect the students’ maturity and understanding. Teachers will maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding the topics being covered in each class.
