Purposeful Play and Kindergarten Preparedness

Welcome to the Preschool Program at QSI International School of Chisinau, where we believe that every child arrives at school with a natural curiosity and eagerness to learn. Our program focuses on play-based activities that spark imagination and promote social interaction, enabling students to build essential early skills in literacy, mathematics, and science, setting a solid foundation for future success in elementary school.

In our 2/3 year old program we emphasizes the development of school-ready behaviors while introducing core foundational skills that will benefit them as they transition into our academically rich 4-year-old program.

Students enjoy ample outdoor time on our dedicated preschool playground as well as the elementary playground when elementary classes are in session. With a low teacher-to-student ratio, we prioritize safety and security for our youngest learners.

Our preschool program operates in alignment with the school schedule from 8:10 am to 3:30 pm, offering both half-day and full-day options to accommodate various needs.

Curriculum Focus

The preschool curriculum is designed to engage the children in their first educational experience.

QSI International School of Chisinau uses Frog Street by Frog Street Press, Inc. a research-based, developmentally appropriate program that integrates the educational of a preschool child through multiple domains with the special focus on social-emotional development, differentiated instruction and joyful learning through sensory experiences. The domains for each themed unit include: Language/Literacy, Mathematics, Science/Social Studies/Health, Gross Motor Development, Fine Motor Development, Fine Arts, Social/Emotional Development and Independence/Self-help.

Our 4YO learners start their phonics education with the Really Great Reading curriculum, which focuses on phonics and phonemic awareness. This research-based program utilizes effective direct-instruction strategies to teach children the fundamental concepts of phonics and phonemic awareness. The curriculum consists of systematic, daily lessons and is implemented throughout the entire year.

Home School Connection:

Establishing a strong home-school connection is essential for preschool parents to support their child's learning and development. Each daily lesson plan is thoughtfully organized into various sections, such as outdoor time, greeting circle, literacy time, mathematics time, science time, meal time, and nap time. Understanding these components helps parents engage with their child's daily experiences, reinforcing concepts learned in school. By collaborating with teachers and participating in activities at home, parents can create a consistent and enriching environment that nurtures their child's curiosity and growth, helping them thrive both academically and socially.

Student Services

Your child's health and well-being are our top priorities! We provide nutritious homemade meals and snacks, ensuring that every child receives wholesome and delicious nourishment throughout the day. Our medical services are provided by trained nurses who offer medical care and support, keeping your little ones healthy and safe. For added convenience, we also provide transportation services upon request, making it easier for you to access our nurturing environment.

Enrichment Activities

For our preschool students in the 2-3YO class, the emphasis is on building relationships with peers and teachers while learning essential school readiness skills.

When the 2/3YO students advance to the 4YO program, they will participate in a variety of enriching Elementary School Activities (ESAs) aimed at nurturing creativity, social skills, and a passion for learning, promoting exploration and teamwork while addressing a range of interests. Introducing young learners to a wide array of experiences lays a strong foundation for lifelong curiosity and learning.
