Counseling at QSI Chisinau

The QSI Chisinau counseling program is student-centered, outcome oriented, and deeply collaborative. Our work supports the school’s mission by partnering with staff, students, parents, and the wider community to provide a developmentally and culturally responsive program that promotes success for every learner.

We recognize that all behavior has meaning. Our counselor and staff use restorative practices and lead with kindness and care when responding to student needs. We strive to understand the underlying causes of behavior and work closely with families to support students in thoughtful and compassionate ways. Together, we work to meet the needs of all our students so they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Counseling services are available for students in preschool, elementary, middle, and secondary school. Through these services, students build the academic and social emotional skills that help them grow as learners, friends, and community members. With guidance from the counselor, students learn social skills, emotional regulation strategies, collaboration skills, time management, and effective study habits.

Our school counselor provide school based counseling support. When a student’s needs extend beyond the scope of school counseling, we partner with parents to help identify appropriate services outside of school. This collaborative approach ensures that each child receives the level of care and support they need.

Our secondary school counselor also provides individualized guidance to help students plan their course selections. This planning ensures that students meet QSI graduation requirements while also aligning their studies with the expectations of the universities they are interested in. This thoughtful approach supports students in preparing for their next steps with confidence and clarity.

The QSI Chisinau Counseling Program focuses on four domain areas:

• Academic Development, supporting the QSI exit outcomes of Competencies and Knowledge
• Post Secondary Awareness, including early career exploration and university planning
• Social Emotional Development, helping students build the attitudes, interpersonal skills, and self awareness needed to understand and respect themselves and others
• Global Perspective, fostering appreciation for diverse cultures and an understanding of the dynamic global environment in which our students live and learn

This comprehensive approach reflects our commitment to nurturing capable, confident, and compassionate students who contribute positively to their community.
